Summer Snow Report - On Track

Here is an early look at summer snow pack from Copper Mountain and Saas-Fee Switzerland. Bookings were confirmed this week for Colorado despite lower snow pack. Saas-Fee is trending positively as they approach the largest accumulation month of the year. Baring extreme warming this puts us on track for another year of summer training. Registration for summer 2026 is open!

Our Copper Mountain camp (May 29 – June 5, 2026) relies on the high-elevation snowpack of Colorado's Tenmile Range.

  • The Data: Measured at 10,550ft, the current Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) is tracking at 8.1 inches(USDA, 2026).

  • The Takeaway: While the 2026 season is currently below the 30-year median, Copper’s high-altitude training lanes are famous for their resilience. Even in "low" years, the base of Copperopolis 10,000+ feet remains cold enough to support the high-volume GS and Slalom gate training our athletes expect.

  • The Advantage: A lower snowpack often doesn't matter as snow making completed in December creates a dense base earlier in the year. Additionally, chemical hardening agents are available daily to create hard surfaces for elite-level training.

For our European project (July 27 – August 11, 2026), we head to the Fee Glacier, where "winter" never truly ends.

  • The Data: At 3,600m (11,811ft), the glacier is currently holding a strong 250cm base(SLF, 2026).

  • The Takeaway: We are tracking very closely with the 2024-2025 season. Most importantly, the Glacier has received significant fresh snowfall in mid-March, providing a healthy buffer as we move into the spring accumulation phase.

  • The Advantage: Training at nearly 12,000 feet ensures we aren't fighting the summer slush. The snow here stays harder longer then competing venues, allowing for World Cup-quality surfaces right through the core summer months.
